Lake Carlyle Sea Kayak Trip June 17

Tim Sherry will be joining this trip. He did the clinic last week and will bring his ACA card . Tim and Joe will me me at the Gravois /270 commuter lot at 8:30. No big plans for dinner but we can make a quick stop at McDonalds there. Water at Boulder. Bring lunch and water, sunscreen , change of clothes. Kathy 3144023038

If anyone wants to car pool to Apache boat ramp ( about 1:20 from 270 /Gravois commuter lot, let me know. I can carry 4 kayaks up to 20’ . Meet up time at the commuter lot 7:30 for 9 am launch . Kathy 3144023038 . I’ll be bringing a 17’ kayak
Bring water, lunch, float bag, pump if applicable.

This is a great chance to paddle open water and utilize the skills you learned in clinic. If you would like to practice a few rescues, we could eliminate some miles . Let me know if you interested in miles vs rescues . Both John Meyer and I can help you with either . Kathy 3144023038

This is 1 week after our skills clinic so that paddlers will be able to safely paddle big bodies of water. Plan is to paddle from
Apache ramp at Hazlet SP , with direction link in the home page. We will paddle a diagonal NE to Boulder access and eat our lunch.approx 4 miles. From there we will paddle South along the East shore line to Coles access .From there a 3 mile crossing back to Apache . This will be 9 + miles . ( Creve Cour lake up and back is 3 miles for comparison). Good opportunity to utilize map, compass, GPS. Towing skills, poss rescue skills. There is drinking water at Boulder . Pit toilet at Apache. This is where we will post comments for this trip. I plan for boaters to utilize the skills leaned in the week prior skills clinic. Using a compass, GPS, towing practice, possible rescue practices
