We had nine paddlers and excellent weather for last nights trip around Cuivre Island.  Higher than usual levels on the Mississippi made for quite a workout going against the current up the Cuiver slough, but the owls serenaded us several times along the way.  A minor crisis at home forced us to forgo the hot dogs and head back somewhat earlier than planned but it was still after one A.M whe we returned to the boat ramp.  As usual everyone chipped in to make a great trip and a great evening on the water.
