Hello Paddlers
94% of the responders to our survey chose to use the ACA General Liability insurance for the 2024 year. The cost difference between the plans is pretty significant so that was the Board's choice as well.
This means we will have to follow all the ACA rules and regs regarding waivers and non-ACA membership requirements (annual or one-time event). We will be looking at ways to financially help families with minors since the ACA does not have a family membership. If anyone is interested in participating in a committee to look at this or wants to give input, please contact Carolyn Knarr.
Going forward, to summarize, there will be two kinds of trips: formal Club ones that follow ACA requirements and Common Adventure (CA) trips. CA trips are considered non club sanctioned trips and participants assume their own risk. If you haven't read the previous posts about the Common Adventure model, please do so if you have any questions. (Then if you still have questions, feel free to ask.)
Thank you
