A few tips for the trip since I will not be there. The trail to the 1000 year old cypress and Eagle Pond is marked. But much better if you have the OSMAnd app as it has all the trails and the best trees marked. See my post in the general section. The big trees I have marked show up real small. So click on the search icon, search for tree then select show on map and they will all show with a big icon.

Best route to go, to the state champion cypress, then Eagle Pond. You can usually find a place to get out of your boat on the north side of Eagle Pond for lunch. Start with directly across from the huge tree with the hundreds of knees. The nicest place to go after that is on the other side of the Cache River south of the putin. There is lots of open water with really nice trees. This does not appear to allow me to upload a picture of the map to show where the spot is.

You can get lost out there if you go off the main trail so really good to have a map in OSMAnd. Remember it is free.

Barkhausen-Cache River Wetlands Center is closed due to staffing shortage. When I did the cache a couple of weeks ago, the gates were locked so you cannot get into the parking lots. 37.29811, -89.05284 is the cords for the put in.

I finally figured out how to deal with the big rivers like the MO, MS and IL. To see lots of stuff you need to set it to nautical maps. I created a new profile to do this nd it is represented by the Boat Icon. If you are on the MO, MS, or IL, use that profile. The MO river in MO has the navigation line, wing dike, boat ramps, and navigation lights. I also have the STL Area and more done for the MS and IL rivers. Just download the new file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gUaNQYgvAwMvP43YcuIp6bbrun-cgVoB/view?usp=sharing

Remember the 3 lines, settings, restore from file.

If you are doing the MO 340 I have detailed instructions on how to use OMSAnd in the race on the race facebook page.

Also the search function is now working.
