John, All I can say is we are still working the bugs out of the system. Carolyn forgot at first to link the waivers but hopefully Eleanor has corrected that. If you are an ACA member and did their annual waiver online the club should be covered for the trip under ACA guidelines.

Looks like I have enough interest to work out a shuttle so I plan on going ahead with this paddle. Doesn’t look like the weather will clear up as much as originally forecasted, but rain is supposed to be over with by mid morning. We can hope for the best, but bring rain gear just in case. Temperature should be around the low 50’s. The plan is to meet at the Eureka Walmart at 9:30 am to finalize shuttle plans and head out to the take out to drop return shuttle vehicle. Anyone who wants to meet us at the take out should let me know and plan on being there by 10:30 am. Please confirm if you plan on coming by posting here or texting me at 314 971-5198.

Maura, I posted a paddle for Sunday when it will be warmer with less wind if you would be interested. Less chance of hypothermia if you get wet. I will post final details tomorrow.

Maura, With the current forecast for New Year’s Day I would not recommend this paddle for an inexperienced paddler. The temperature will barely be above freezing when we start and they are predicting wind gusts of up to 25 miles per hour. You would need the proper cold weather gear (wet suit or dry suit) to be comfortable. It isn’t going to be a pleasant trip probably but more of a bragging rites paddle. I hope to see you on some of our other paddles once it gets a little warmer. What kind of boat do you have so we can determine what paddles or right for you?

Looks like I have enough interest to work out a shuttle and the water level looks okay. Let’s plan on meeting at the Woodson K Wilson access at 9:30 am. We will drop boats and gear then shuttle vehicles. With the recent flooding be prepared to navigate fresh trees and debris that may be in the river channel. With the colder weather and water please dress appropriately for the conditions. I would like for people to confirm that they are coming.

Sorry Gary, Eleanor was going over some website features with me and we were trying to find an easy way for people to create a list without it getting buried in emails.

Looks like there is enough interest to do a shuttle, so let’s plan on meeting at the Meramec State Park boat ramp by 9:30 am to combine boats for the shuttle. Temperatures should be in the 60’s with plenty of sunshine by time we get on the water. Bring lunch and something to drink. Kathy, don’t know what’s going on with your arm, but if you need help loading your boat, I can stop by today or in the morning to lend a hand.

Looks like the forecast for heavy rain tomorrow isn’t going to change much so I am going to cancel for this weekend. Since I have some people interested in next weekend I will start looking at the forecasts for next weekend on Monday. Will post if things look good.

Randy, Was waiting on weather updates before looking to reserve a sight. The new forecast for this coming weekend has changed a lot based on the storm hitting the gulf. With that change they are currently forecasting around 3 inches of rain Friday and Saturday. If this forecast holds I will make a decision on whether to cancel late Thursday.

Moving the meet up time at Sand Ford to 10:00 to allow the rain this morning to clear.

How about we do Meramec State Park to Sand Ford? This is a seven mile paddle. We could meet at Sand Ford 9:30 Sunday morning to combine boats and work out shuttle. They do have some rain in the forecast for Sunday morning but hopefully if we get any it will pass by time we get there and shuttle. River is extremely low, so no worry about a rise in water level. Let me know if this works for you. If anyone wants to join us post here or text me at three 14 Nine 71 5198.

Working the club table for part of Saturdays event, but could paddle somewhere on the Meramec Sunday if you would be interested. Any idea what section you would want to do or how many miles?
