This is a trip on the upper Jacks Fork. There is camping at Rhymers which is basic camping with no running water. There is camping with running water and showers at Alley Springs, which is by reservation only at http://www.recreation.gov.
This is a trip on the Upper Buffalo. We will be paddling the through some of the most beautiful sections of the river. I plan to camp at Kyles Landing and will probably head out a few days early to hike some of the trails.
The weather is looking great for Saturday. It will be a little cool so you need to dress for immwersion or bring extra clothes in a dry bag. Remember do not wear cotton.
I plan to bike ride on the Tunnel Trail on Sunday. The goal is to ride from Vienna to the store that is just past the tunnel and then get some ice-cream there and ride back to Vienna. In total it will be a little less than 20 miles of riding.
Several people are going to bike ride on the Tunnel Trail on Sunday. This is not a club sanctioned part of this trip, but will be open to anyone who want to join us. The plan is to ride from Vienna to the parking lot just past the tunnel and we will turn around and bike back. this will be about 20 miles.
I don’t think the us a maximum number. I didn’t put on for this trip, unless Carolyn put a maximum number.
The recent rain has brought the river up a little but no where near a dangerous level. The weather is looking great.
We are doing 10 miles Saturday and there will be a good current with the projected rain and gradient of the river. Sunday is much shorter and again there will be a good flow and nice gradient.
