Do you know where you will be putting in, taking out? You mentioned a campground on the left, but no name. Could you please clarify? Kathy

Don’t know what section yet. It wi) depend on water levels, which is dependent on rain and flow frosprings. I will make a determination closer to the day. Pulltite is a good choice to camp or round springs as both are near the sections we’ll most likely paddle

Since we did Pultite to Jerktail last year, it would be great to start upstream. A number of club members floated Cedar Grove to Upper Round Springs last weekend. They had good flow the entire length. My favorite stretch is Akers to Pultite. – Ed

I’m interested. What’s max number of campers per site? Are we planning gravel bar camping Saturday night, or returning to Pultite (which we could do if starting at Akers on Saturday morning)? – Ed

What user name do we use to log into SurveyMonkey? I tried using my club username and password, but it wasn’t accepted.

After reviewing poll and information, we will paddle from Cedargrove to Round Springs. We will meet st Round Springs Upper Canoe Access at 8:00 am. We will consolidate and drive up to Cedargrove leaving some vehicles at Round Springs to have a ride back up on Sunday. While shuttling mask are required. We will be camping on a gravel bar on the river.

I am also planning camping at Round Springs Friday night. I believe only first come first serve available and there were plenty so I am going to go early Friday.

I am planning to camp at Round Springs and would like to follow someone if possible. Is anyone leaving Friday afternoon? I’m looking at 2-3:00, but can be flexible. Thanks!

Cindy,
How about at the Hwy exit leading to West Tyson County Park? It is just prior to crossing over the Meramec. We could meet on the outer road near the entrance to the Chubb Trail Head at 2:30?

I cancelled on the trip so we can have room for more members to go but I will be there with the ancillary group doing the same float, just camping on a different gravel bar.

If I could impose on 3 folks to each carry one small ditty bag for me, I could join in on this trip: 1 for backpacking tent, 1 for sleeping bag and 1 for a few clothes, etc.
Bill has truck at Dauphin Island cleaning up hurricane mess, so I have no way to transport my sea kayak. (I can fit my ww boat inside my car, but no storage room.) -
September 24, 2020 at 11:39 pm #650adminKeymaster
I have never camped at Round Springs before. Are there some sites you recommend for a tent over other sites (close to bathroom/shower etc.) and do I need to make a reservation? Also, due to work it will be after 8:30PM by the time I arrive.
-
September 24, 2020 at 11:51 pm #651adminKeymaster
There are only a few campsites at Round Spring that are relatively level and not rocky. The last time I looked the only sites left are first come first served.
-
September 25, 2020 at 12:10 am #652adminKeymaster
Jenn There are only first come first serve sites left but there are plenty of them (over 30). There are 2 tents per site. I am already sharing my site with someone. I should be there by 3pm. I don’t see a problem getting a site when you arrive but if there is I can sleep in my SUV (I was thinking of doing that anyway but not sure)

Could someone remind me, did we camp at Group Camp A (4-9) last year? It is near the Middle Landing. It had large grassy areas and some metal picnic tables.

Kathy helped me solve my problem. So I will not need anyone to carry any of my three bags. Can I still join? I want to sign up and I see you have closed it.

Jenn, You can share my site with me. I have a white Prius. Will get there in plenty of time to get one of the first come first serve sites. I plan on coming down even if it is too late for me to join the float.

Dave,
Thanks for organizing the trip on a fine stretch of the Current. Thanks also for coordinating with the Park Service for Public Lands Day. It was a pleasant surprise to get a fee free voucher as well!
