Sorry, but the audio on last night’s ZOOM meeting was horrendous. In addition, Jonathan’s presentation was cut off from ZOOM members. So, please bear with me when I ask these questions:
1. There was a vote to eliminate affiliate memberships. I had to abstain because I did not know enough about specifics to cast an educated vote. I tried posing questions on ZOOM, but saw that the vote came and went without clarification/answers.
2. What I think I learned is that as a member of STLCK, I, by affiliation, am an honorary member of MRA, MRWTA, and TRR. If that is true, why drop our affiliation with them? How are they costing us revenue?
Can someone please explain this to me? I appreciate any and all responses.
Thank you,
Yvonne Kehoe
Yvonne, In response to your question and what you didn’t hear is that we have about 20 members claiming affiliate status which is about 400.00 in revenue we are losing if they become regular dues paying members. This practice of recognizing affiliate status also affects the other clubs revenue when they offer the same to our members. Carolyn spoke to some of the other club presidents and they are of the same inclination about doing away with the practice. In the last two years the club has finished in the red somewhat and we are going to have to address our revenue stream at some point and this is just considered a first step. We will open online voting for this as required by our bylaws.
Hope this clears this up for you, if you have further questions we will try to answer them.
