Ever fancied a night paddle?
Join us on the evening of May 31st for a short paddle UP the Cuivre River. Meet at the public access off of East Sycamore Road in Old Monroe — google link below. We’ll meet at 7:30pm and go upriver for a couple hours, then leisurely float back. It will be dark so you’ll need a headlight or flashlight and if you want to decorate your boat with glow in the dark accessories or lights, you are more than welcome to. Bring PFD, snacks, bug spray or nets. This is suitable for beginners and those with short boats. I have no set miles for this, how far we paddle upstream will be dependent on the strength of the current and just the time. Obviously, this is also weather dependent and I will be checking out the river on Friday or Saturday morning.

There is no light at the public access so you’ll want a headlamp to see to strap your boat on your vehicle.

If anyone wants to do this, please text me at 636-922-3663. I’ll be checking often but if no one has contacted me by Saturday noon, I’ll consider this a no-go.
If you want to do it but just can’t make this weekend, let me know and we can reschedule. Will schedule a night trip on the Illinois from Pere Marquette Park to Grafton but that is not a beginner trip.
