Little Piney Creek Trip
May 3 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Free – $11.50May 3 @ 9:00 am  Free – $11.50
The Little Piney is a tributary of the Gasconade River in south central Missouri. It flows from the Lane Sprints through the town of Newburg to the Gasconade River. The Little Piney is more creek than a river and has excellent fishing and some technical paddling. It doesn’t often get clear of debris, so there are a lot of fallen trees that can cause jams. That is where the technical part comes in. If you are in a kayak, you may be able to wriggle around most of them. In a canoe, not so much. It also takes some precise turning to get around the jams, so if you are a novice, you will either be portaging or falling out of your boat a lot.
We will meet at the Newburg access at 9:00 am, then shuttle up to the put in. This will be a 10-mile paddle. Appropriate boats are plastic boats under 15 feet. This trip is appropriate for all paddlers. There is a possibility of log jams that we may have to portage around. You will need to bring a lunch and liquids to drink.
