Anyone interested in kayak fishing this Saturday? St. Francis or Gasconade. I am open to any suggestions.
Which section on St Francis or Gasconade are you thinking of, most sections still look blown out with all the rain we got last week or so. I was on stream clean April 10 on the upper Castor. It could be fishable by Saturday if we don’t get more rain.
You may be correct on river levels being to high. I would go to the Castor. If river levels are to high we could go to DiSalvo Lake (Bismarck Conservation Area). I was thinking Gasconade near Jerome or St. Francis Silver Mines to E highway. MDC says there is good population of walleye in the St. Francis. I have never been on Castor or Gasconade and never paddled that section of St. Francis.
I will be doing a swift water rescue class on St Francis this weekend. The river is already near bridge level and more rain today and tomorrow morning . I wouldn’t suggest that river now . Kathy
Thanks Kathy
We are planning on going to DiSalvo lake (Bismarck Conservation area). Rivers are likely going to be to high and to murky for fishing.
In low water, summer, I’ve seem a lot of people catching large fish below Double Drop while fishing from the boulders .
