Over the past year (and then some!), your board has worked to thoughtfully revise our bylaws to ensure they reflect best practices and comply with Missouri state law. We now invite you to review the draft bylaws and then ask questions and discuss proposed changes here on this forum thread. Share your feedback either on the forum or directly to natalieannjohnson09@gmail.com. If three or more members request it, we’ll hold a special (virtual) discussion meeting during the week of August 18. You can request this by emailing natalieannjohnson09@gmail.com. Please share your feedback now through August 18. If no meeting is requested, we plan to hold a virtual vote shortly thereafter, with the goal of adopting the new bylaws by September 4.

I’m wondering if by laws changes could be postponed until next election, as there seems to be a lot of controversy concerning some of the very basics of the club operation? Kathy

I personally think it would be wise to move forward with the bylaws changes as much as we can. The bylaws revision and review has dragged on for over 18 months now. We need to move forward on some of our reporting to the Missouri Attorney General and to the IRS. If we delay our bylaw review then we will have to report twice. Are there parts of how common adventure/pop-up trips happen that significantly disrupt the bulk of the other bylaws changes or are there other parts of club operation that are under question and also don’t align with bylaw review?
