Black River Overnight Fishing Trip

Seven members participated in the trip: Tom, Kathy, Dennis, Grant, Glenda, Michael and Gary.  The weather was perfect although rather warm, but the river temperature felt pleasant.  The scenery was magnificent and the barbarian hordes of the weekend were absent.  We had a nice gravel bar campsite for our night on the river.  I think everybody was satisfied with the number of fish caught.  That can be a challege when the water is crystal clear and the fish can see you coming from 50 ft. away.

2018 Boubeuse River Fishing Trip

There were four people on the trip, Glenda, Mike, Will and Gary.  We put in at Millrock Access and floated to Wenkel Ford Access, a distance of 7.2 miles.  There was adequate water and we were off the river by about 4:30.  The fish were biting well once we figured out what appealed to them.  The prize for most unusual catch went to Will for coming up with a large mussell attached to his buzz bait.  Check out the photo in the gallery.  It got pretty warm in the afternoon but it was a beautiful day for a peaceful float down a nearly deserted river.

Upper Huzzah

20 passwords went on this trip. The original watch site was inaccessible due to flood damage which led to moving to alternative take out. The shuttle because of this became quite long and a little confusing but no Maps available to hand out. The flood definitely change the river depositing lot of trees in it. The river bed has been scoured out by the flood making the ratings on the gauge and accurate for use by judging on past experience. We had quite a few swimmers due to issues with the river. And the shuttle at the end of the day was a little confusing.
