Dale is planning to be in Alton on Saturday but Joe Ringling is unavailable then. So we will paddle with Dale on Friday. Logistics were a bit difficult so we will go in kayaks instead of in the voyageur. I will update you on where we will be paddling- likely Pool 25
or upper pool 26. We will work out a shuttle. Thanks for your interest. Still time to join us. Joan

I see the Big Piney trip is full. If you get cancellations I’d love to make this one. I’ll check website periodically but if you could remember I am interested that’d be great. Thanks.

Due to the fact that the operators of the cave tour want three weeks notice in order to schedule their guides and safety boaters the cutoff date for registering for this trip is August 5th. If anyone has been procrastinating about signing up for this trip don’t put it off too much longer.

We will be paddling 6 to 8 hours each day. For your numbness you might want to try a cushion. I found that the Jackson Sweet Cheek work well. It eliminated both numbness and sciatic pain. Other people have found cushions in front of seats supporting thighs help with numbness.

Hopefully have a couple of people joining me so this trip is on. Would like to meet at Meramec State Park boat ramp at 8:00 am to combine boats and shuttle up to the put-in. Should be off the river before it gets too hot. Bring lunch and liquids. Bring a mask for the shuttle. Post here or text call me if you want to join us.

Checked the gauge this morning and the creek looks good for the paddle tomorrow. Looks like most of the rain stayed north of 44. I will continue to keep an eye on it but don’t expect a need to cancel. The plan is to meet at the Scotia access at 9:30 and combine boats to shuttle up to the put-in. If you plan on coming call, text me or post here. There is a chance for rain in the late afternoon so be sure to bring rain gear just in case. To get to the Scotia access you continue across the Meramec on HWY H at Onondoga Cave State Park. HWY H will become HWY E and Scotia Access will be on your left just before you cross Huzzah Creek.
