Hi all, I’d like to organize a kids & family common adventure trip on the Meramec on Sunday, August 4. If we do Sappington to Meramec State Park, it’s about 5 miles with plenty of pretty gravel bars, a rope swing, and a cave spring to explore.

We can meet at the main boat ramp (picnic area/parking lot) at Meramec State Park to leave a car and then shuttle up to the put in at Sappington Bridge.

I will plan to have my two kids each in their own boat, a tow set up on mine, and lots of gummy worms! I have a 4-boat trailer (thank you, Dennis!) and can put two boats on my roof.

Hello all! My kiddo, age 7, and I would really like to join in on the fun, and we don’t have boats. I honestly don’t have a life vest. Just throwing it out there to see if anybody has a kid and adult kayak and adult life vest for borrow? Or if anyone is wanting to sell used?

My son is bravely wanting to paddle his own boat.

We’re excited for this new beginning! I’m looking at this as an opener for going for the family membership, and wanting to see how it goes as mama/son on the river again. We have been twice with experienced floaters on black and big piney river, but kid was tandem in kayak and canoe passed between boats for those trips.

Hi Julia! I am pretty sure you have a great life jacket for your kiddo already. You could see if anyone is selling an old adult life jacket in the buy/sell forum here or also post over in the STLCKC group on Facebook for that. The Lifetime kid kayaks are a popular start and often go for sale on Marketplace. I’ll catch up with you soon 😉

Hiya! Okay, let’s meet at 9:30am at the Meramec SP boat ramp/concession stand.

We will consolidate boats onto trailers and cars, leave at least one car at the take-out, and then caravan up to the put-in.

If possible, please RSVP here with the number of people/boats you’ll bring, just so I can wrap my head around what we’re looking at. My cell is 314-852-7522 🙂

We will have 4 people with three kayaks. They will be on a trailer and we will have two spots on the roof that may be taken by two others that want to come. If they dont the spots will be open for shuttling.

Thanks for organizing! My family will join! 2 adults, 2 children. We will have 1 tandem kayak, 1 single kayak, and 2 kid sit on top kayaks. The tandem and single will be on a rack on top of our truck and the 2 kid kayaks will be in the back of the truck with a cap. We will be loaning 1 kid yak to Julie and son. We also have 1 extra child sized life jacket (40-80lb.) if anyone needs it.
