SUMMARY:Jack's Fork/Current River overnight
DESCRIPTION:August 2@ 10:00 am – August 3 @ 4:00 pm    Free – $11.50 \nThe paddle would be approximately 25 miles from Joshua Chilton Access on the Jack’s Fork to the Log Yard Access on the Current River. We would camp one night on a gravel bar. Plan on meeting at the Log Yard Access by 10:00 am on Saturday to combine boats for the shuttle up to the put-in. The positions of President\, Vice President\, Secretary\, and Treasurer are all up for election. Ed (treasurer) and Natalie (secretary) will not be seeking another term for our current roles of Treasurer and Secretary. \nBetween now and Wednesday\, September 4 at noon\, please use this online nomination form to submit your nominations. We will share the slate of candidates at the September 4 potluck. Online voting will run Sept 5 through noon on October 3 and will conclude with in person voting at the October 3 member meeting. Results will be announced at the end of the October 3 meeting. DESCRIPTION:Aug. 10 @ 9:00 am – 2:00 pm    Free – $11.50 \nMoving Water Skills Clinic \nPlease note the date of this clinic has changed to a Sunday so that more people can participate. \nWould you like to improve your skills in moving water\, such as the Ozark rivers?  Jim Moody and Kathy Pszonka will be leading a clinic to help participants be better and safer paddlers. Skills include: \n\nAppropriate rescue skills such as using a throw rope.\nSafely paddling past a strainer.\nSwimming to shore in current.\nHow to ferry and peel out.\nWhat to do if you get caught in a strainer.\nOther paddling skills to use in rivers.\n\nThis event is appropriate for beginners and intermediate paddlers. This is not appropriate for minors. It is NOT a whitewater clinic. \nThere are only 10 participant slots\, so first come\, first serve. Please get a ticket only if you are sure you can come. \nYou will get wet. Bring a throw rope and helmet if you have one. A bicycle helmet will also work. Bring a skirt if you normally use one. Also bring lunch\, water\, dry clothes and a folding chair.
