DESCRIPTION:August 8-September 4\, 2025 \nIt’s that time of year! We’re officially opening our Call for Nominations for the Board of Directors. The positions of President\, Vice President\, Secretary\, and Treasurer are all up for election. Ed (treasurer) and Natalie (secretary) will not be seeking another term for our current roles of Treasurer and Secretary. \nBetween now and Wednesday\, September 4 at noon\, please use this online nomination form to submit your nominations. We will share the slate of candidates at the September 4 potluck. Online voting will run Sept 5 through noon on October 3 and will conclude with in person voting at the October 3 member meeting. Results will be announced at the end of the October 3 meeting. You can find all the election information here: https://stlcanoekayak.com/2026-club-elections/. \nA few notes: \n\nYou may nominate yourself or someone else (with their permission).\nNominees must be current individual or household members (affiliate members are not eligible).\nThis year’s form follows a more detailed format\, similar to the one used by the American Canoe Association. SUMMARY:Operation Clean Stream Simpson Lake
DESCRIPTION:August 23 @ 8:30 am \nOperation Clean Stream will be meeting at Simpson Lake for a day of clean-up. Donuts included! And shirts for participants. \nAfterward\, there will be a picnic and watershed celebration to celebrate our hard-working volunteers. Join us for Passport to Clean Water\, an educational event where kids can learn about regional land and water stewardship in the Meramec River watershed. \nThe picnic and Passport to Clean Water will take place from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm with a variety of organizations providing hands-on activities for kids! \nPlease email volunteer@openspacestl.org to register for the clean-up. Last minute walk-ons welcome.
